“My passion stems from a need to ensure every pupil with SEND achieves their full potential. I am committed to equipping teachers with practical, effective strategies that remove barriers to learning, enabling truly inclusive classrooms where all children can thrive and succeed.”

Engage + Educate is passionate about sharing knowledge and expertise with school teams, to educate teachers in implementing best practice, which will enable the engagement of all pupils by removing barriers to learning and promoting better outcomes for pupils with special educational needs.

Engage + Educate offers expert support and training which will help schools navigate the complexity of SEND provision and inclusion. We aim to provide up-to-date pedagogy in order to empower all teachers to be confident in meeting the needs of all pupils.

Engage + Educate understands the current challenges schools are facing. We aim to support school leaders, SENCOs, teachers and teaching assistants to be Ofsted ready, by offering training on the New Ofsted Toolkit.

Nicola Longworth-Smith NPQH, MEd Psychology of Education, BEd (Hons), Postgrad. Cert in SpLD (Dyslexia), Specialist Leader in Education (SLE).

Nicola is an experienced educational leader with over 30 years of teaching expertise across a wide range of primary school settings. Her career has included working in a school in an area of high deprivation, where she developed a deep understanding of inclusive practice and the needs of the vulnerable learners.

In her most recent teaching role, Nicola served as Deputy Headteacher, holding NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) status. She also held the positions of SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and Inclusion Manager. Nicola was also Assessment lead, responsible for the Pupil Premium Strategy and Looked After Children Co-ordinator, alongside monitoring and evaluating teaching and learning. Nicola has worked as a Specialist Leader in Education (SLE), providing school-to-school support in the areas of SEND and Reading. She is also a qualified dyslexia specialist and accredited Irlen Screener.
